Latest Update

### ALL CLUB RIDES & EVENTS CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE ###

  • NO club rides or organised group activities will be taking place until the government (and our governing body) guidance is crystal clear and all the committee can agree that the activity places no one at appreciable risk.
  • As a club we still do NOT recommend riding in groups (even 2 – 6 persons) as it is impossible to maintain the 2-metre rule for social distancing whilst cycling.
  • Any club member riding does so at their own personal choice of distance, location, etc. but we would urge all members to use common sense and stay ‘reasonably’ close to home so as not to put any unnecessary strain on the emergency services and NHS.
  • You may choose to ride in your own small groups, but these are NOT Club rides and your own personal choice to do so if you wish.
  • Please ride SOLO, or only with members of your own household.
  • We must ask you to NOT ride in Club Kit in groups where possible. Riding SOLO in club kit is now acceptable.
  • Go-Ride sessions will NOT be recommencing yet we cannot guarantee safe social distancing at all times.
  • British Cycling have published further information following recent changes in government advice.

You have all seen the advice from the government and British Cycling. You have also seen the comments on the pros and cons of riding for mental health benefits versus the risk of an accident impacting on a stretched NHS. The committee have been discussing the best way forward and have decided to keep our Facebook group open for community support but want to discourage any action that might reflect badly on the club or the wider cycling community.
