2018 Battle of Bradfield (B.O.B) Sportive
A challenging road biking event principally in open countryside and on the high moorland to the north west of Sheffield – an estimated 70% of the riding is on beautiful super-smooth tarmac as laid for Stage 2 of the 2014 Tour de France.
Not one for the faint hearted or for those that like flat roads we promise back to back tough 20% gradient climbs throughout the 63km long route option which has a total of 1736m of ascent including the classic climbs of Oughtibridge, Midhopestones and Bradfield. The shorter 33km route in the same area has 890m of climbing
After what can only be called an instant smash last year, the Jester once again promises fun and frivolity around the roads of Notts and Derbyshire. Shoring up the firm foundations we’ve laid down, the format for the event will run in exactly the same way. Self sufficiency will once again be the order of the day for this Reliability Trial, in exchange for a fully insured, cheap to enter ride with refreshments at the end.
A slight change to the venue this year helping support the new community venture to succeed at Oxcroft, means not only a wider selction of drinks are available, but also pre ride bacon sandwiches will be available to purchase should you be tempted!
