Greenland Road S95FD
Saturday 11 November 2023
I’m leading the Poppy ride again this year. The annual Poppy ride has evolved over the years, from a pure endurance ride (70-80 miles), to a more fun/techy ride. Last year we did a local single track ride to Pines and back. This year I’ve decided to do my Parkwood/Greno loop. The starting point will be Biffa waste car park on Greenland road S95FD for 9am(next to McDonald’s). However there are some mad lads who are riding in from RV @ 8am should you wish to extend the ride by approximately 15 miles.
I’ve been reccy’ing the route lately so most of you will have seen my rides on Strava. But for those who haven’t seen it, I’ll give you a basic run down of the ride.
I’m grading the ride as Blue with optional Red sections.
We will ride down the canal into the city, then up to Parkwood for a lap around the old and the brand new loop. Then follow the river Don to Oughtibridge and ride up into Greno and do the 3 official runs, before dropping back down into the city on some off piste sections. Here we can stop at Beres Pork sandwich shop, before we pick up the five weirs way back to Greenland road. Let me know who is interested. Depending on the weather this weekend I’ll probably do the full ride so you can see the whole route. People are welcome to join me this weekend if they want to do the route but can’t make the 11th.
